I love you, man

Recently i saw the movie I Love You, Man. This movie shows that people think men should be dirty, rude, and drunks. The main character, Peter (Paul Rudd), is a sensitive man who has never really had any close male friends. Peter is more feminine than masculine. Because of this his wife, Zooey (Rashida Jones), encourages him to go at and make some male friends to become more masculine. When Peter meets Sydney (Jason Segel), they become close friends as Sydney teaches Peter everything that normal men do. Sydney teaches Peter that men go rock climbing, go out to bars to drink and talk about sex, masturbate regularly, and have one night stands. While its hard to argue most of these things, not all of it is true. There are plenty of men that do not drink excessively or participate in sports. Some men like to keep their personal sex life to themselves whether that may be talking about having sex with women or masturbating.

The character that is really over the top is Barry, the husband of one of Zooeys friends. Barry is forced to invite Peter over to play poker with him and his friends. Barry is a drunk ass who thinks that he is the king of the house. Barry is very competetive and is not very understanding of Peter. Barry and his friends use vulgar langauge often and burp and fart in each others presence. They challange each other to drinking games and take them seriously. This gives of the idea that men are stupid, rude and evil. There are plenty of men who are very conservative and would never do something like burp or fart in public. There are also many households where women make most of the decisions regarding the house.
